Every summer, Manchester University student Lisa Chan Lai-san flies into Hong Kong. The first time she spent the vacation with family and friends. The second time she worked as a volunteer teacher at a summer camp organised by AccessHK.

'I wanted to make a difference to society,' said Lisa. The twenty year old was born in Britain but her family has since returned to Hong Kong. As Lisa could not get a work permit in Hong Kong she decided that volunteering was the way to go.

And step kick kick touch... yes Brighton has dancing feet. Top West End choreographer Stepehen Mears loves Brighton and has made his home on Marine Parade. So too has choreographer Mathew Bourne, the creator of the all male Swan Lake and Car Man, who lives a few doors along the seafront.

Dancer and choreographer Liz Aggis is also a long time resident of Brighton, living in the Montpelier area of the city. Her company, Divas, has been at the forefront of contemporary dance for years and her collaborations with composer Billy Cowie, also a Brighton resident, have received much critical acclaim. Liz is also Professor of Visual Performance at Brighton University. Liz's performances can be both moving and comic - she is a well loved figure on Brighton's creative scene.

We saw five famous faces get out of their comfort zones and rediscover their musical passions as they embarked on an emotional journey into their past and rekindled their first musical love. We followed a journey driven by something very real – a burning passion which they all once had. Guided by a mentor, the celebrities retrained, building to a live performance at a prestigious London venue in front of a paying audience. Through meeting famous musicians and experts, they discovered more about their genre and gained a deeper understanding of the artistic process and nature of their chosen instrument.

Blame it on print's slow and inevitable death: Conde Nast is looking to survive breath new life into its titles by launching restaurants in their honour. Moscow is already home to the Vogue café, the GQ bar and the Tatler club - now it's Asia's turn. The company is establishing a new division, called Conde Nast Restaurants, which will be based in Hong Kong and run by Stuart Nielsen, a regional director of food and beverages for Intercontinental Hotels Group.

The company initially is targeting places like Hong Kong - they are convinced that doing restaurants in the right way will strengthen the power of their brands elsewhere.
