About Us

THE ORIGIN

Hong KongR.D.A. Estates was founded as a unique residential property investment business in 1992 following Jean & Brian Shillinglaw's return to England from Hong Kong. Jean & Brian relocated to the cosmopolitan city of Brighton & Hove on England's beautiful South Coast.

Jean & Brian were well aware that residential property investment was solid in the UK - particularly in Brighton & Hove.  While working abroad they had experienced the difficulties UK expatriate investors had in finding the time to source reasonably priced UK residential investment property, supported by expert rental and management for landlords who reside far away.

Hong Kong

THE EARLY YEARS

Late in 1992 three Hong Kong based friends were considering purchasing investment flats. Jean & Brian sourced & recommended five ideal properties within a week. Their recommendations were accepted immediately and rental commenced immediately upon completion of each purchase.  Jean & Brian's aim "to seek investment property with best potential asset growth and maximum long-term rental potential, in order for clients to create a successful property portfolio of properties from the initial recommended purchase" was realised.  R.D.A. Estates was created and became registered as a limited company in September 1993, utilising the initials of their children Russell, Daniel & Anna.

Brighton PropertyRDA soon established the prime locations in Brighton & Hove for asset growth and maximum rentals.  R.D.A. Estates considers over 200 flats each month, chooses to view about 20% and recommends no more than twenty.  Web developed a respected and trusted service for UK expatriates and overseas nationals.  What helped RDA to gain a justified reputation was our detailed knowledge and understanding of residential property investment in Brighton & Hove.  We ensure that our clients receive the best service possible. Our company logo proclaims 'We Arrange It All' and we really do.

Brighton & Hove PropertyTHE PRESENT
RDA's reputation continues to grow on the strength of the experience and expertise we have developed since 1992.  At RDA we aim to provide residential investment opportunities at an affordable cost and to make the property investment process as straightforward as possible.  Our dedicated team advises our clients all along the way and provides experienced and novice investors alike with a 'one stop shop' that takes care of every aspect from sourcing, purchasing and renovating through to renting and managing properties.

We have been approached many times by clients to manage properties in other areas of the UK but we have always declined.  RDA is very much a 'hands on company' and we pride ourselves on our attention to detail as well as our local knowledge and are therefore unwilling to provide such a service further afield.

Successfully sourcing and managing residential investment properties in Brighton & Hove with optimum results for our existing clients, RDA is now developing exciting plans to extend its client base.

After many successful years, Brian is now enjoying retirement.

What Clients Say

AnnaMy name is Anna. I am the A in RDA, alongside my brothers Russell & Daniel.

As an international model I travelled all over the world for clients - including international fashion magazines, international retailers and television companies. I was a model from the age of 16 and I now have my own boutique model agency in London.

Thanks to RDA I have some wonderful investment properties. They make me feel immensely proud and give me a great sense of achievement. I could have an amazing collection of original Prada and Gucci handbags but I have had something more - fantastic properties with excellent rental and asset growth, which I used to purchase my dream home - a delightful property in Surrey.

Without the guidance and expertise of RDA my successful property portfolio and my precious home simply would not have been possible. As I continue my journey I can sleep soundly knowing that RDA is there for me - and all their other clients around the world!

I have been living in a flat managed by RDA Estates since 2002. They are a friendly organisation to deal with and I have found them to be extremely helpful and quick to deal with all matters pertaining to the flat. They respond courteously to any requests and issues as they occur. I have no hesitation recommending them to anyone looking to rent in Brighton & Hove.
Tom, Musician & Brighton Tenant

My first property investment through RDA was in 2000. I have found their advice and guidance invaluable. The staff are always ready to help. Their regular property inspections ensure that I can budget properly for any additional expenditure required. Without hesitation, I would recommend RDA to potential investors.
Stephen Lacey, Sussex

I enjoy living in my flat knowing that RDA looks after it and only a phone call away if anything goes wrong.
Helen, Engineer & Brighton Tenant

I have been a long time customer of RDA, in the past 15 years, I had bought and sold many properties in Brighton and Hove according to their advice, I enjoyed their one-stop shopping service as well as after sale care.

They are one of the most efficient and professional property agent I have been dealing with, and the most important is their honesty, they give you the best advice on property investment.

Thanks to Brian and Jean for helping me built up my wealth in the past years, thanks to David for taking care of my apartments.
