BRIGHTON & HOVE'S ELTON JOHN BOOST

Business in Brighton & Hove boomed in the wake of Sir Elton John's concert.

Rocket Man Sir Elton John's concert gave a bumper boost to Brighton & Hove's economy.

Fans spent hundreds of thousands of pounds in the city before and after the event.  Some traders saw their takings soar by 400% with one leading restaurant owner saying it was the best day's trading he has had in 25 years - absolutely fantastic!  It was the biggest boost Hove has ever had - even better than last time Sir Elton John was here.  The Sussex Cricketer pub next door to the ground reported a huge growth in takings, well in excess of 200%.  Another local restaurant did at least double the business of a normal Sunday.

More then 18,000 Elton John fans packed into the Sussex County Cricket Ground which has just had a £7 million refurbishment.  Many fans had spent the day in Brighton & Hove spending money in pubs and restaurants before the show.  Many Elton John fans made a weekend of the concert and stayed in the city's fabulous range of hotels.
