SHOREHAM AIRSHOW 2011

The 22nd Shoreham Airshow on August 20th and 21st will be bigger and better than ever!

Jayne Torvill OBE, 1984 Winter Olympic Gold Medallist, is the Patron of this year’s celebration of flight.  The Parachute Regiment will be bringing their “Para Tower” to the airshow to link in with the Red Devils Freefall Parachute Team Display. Over the weekend members of the public will have an opportunity to see what it is like to be at the end of a parachute by having the opportunity to jump from the tower to the ground under expert supervision. Don Bean MBE Airshow Organiser said, ‘This is a first for us and what was so nice was that the Parachute Regiment contacted us with an offer to bring this to Shoreham.”

The showground will feature a host of attractions with airside displays taking place alongside a large number of trade stands, the ever popular craft fair, a large fun fair and a Kiddies Circus, making it an exciting day for all.

The Shoreham Airshow, one of the premier family airshows in the UK, is held to support the work of the Royal Air Forces Association which provides welfare and comradeship to all members of the Royal Air Force and Royal Air Force Regiment. Since the shows inception, the event has raised over £1.5million for RAFA.

Shoreham Airport, the oldest licensed airfield in the UK, boasts a beautiful Grade II listed art deco Terminal Building which featured in the movie The Da Vinci Code.
